In the brand’s size hierarchy, the Audi Q7 currently occupies the top notch. But that may soon change if the latest prototype from the four rings is anything to go by. At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, Audi took the wraps off the Q8 Concept, which showcases what a plug-in hybrid luxury CUV could do.
Granted, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen this sort of concept from Audi. In recent years, they’ve been showing more and more e-tron powered models, of which the Q8 Concept is the latest. Under the hood, it boasts a 3.0-liter TSFI V6 mated to a 17.9 kWh lithium ion battery making 333 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. The 621 mile range is a theoretical number, but we can imagine numerous drivers getting behind it if this model makes it to production!
